About Be Girl Mozambique:

Be Girl is a global social business, founded in 2014, with headquarters in Washington, DC USA. The company launched in Mozambique in mid-2018, focusing on women and girls as primary consumers, and registered Be Girl Mozambique Limitada in 2019. Be Girl takes a holistic, design-driven approach to menstrual health and hygiene. We challenge the status quo by using design to re-brand menstruation and build a world where all girls own, understand, and love their bodies. We work to achieve this vision through distributing our sustainable, high-quality menstrual products, delivering age-appropriate menstruation education programs, and creating transformative messaging for a stigma-free world.

Be Girl is a brand for all women and girls, and therefore we aim to reach people across the income spectrum with our period products, while focusing on medium- to high-income consumers with our make-up line. Be Girl’s strategy in Mozambique includes 1) product sales through commercial channels; and 2) partnerships with NGOs to sell period products in bulk for distribution through social impact programs and provide training in menstrual education.

Until September 2022, Be Girl Mozambique is implementing a menstrual education program funded by a sub-grant via the PEPFAR DREAMS initiative.

Be Girl is looking for a dynamic Country Director to lead our committed, talented team to disrupting the menstrual product market in Mozambique and ensuring that all girls and women, regardless of where they live, have access to premium-quality period protection on their terms. A successful country director must feel a strong sense of responsibility for the success and financial sustainability of Be Girl’s Mozambique operation. This position is based in Maputo, Mozambique, and may require some domestic and international travel.
