Drivers
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), based in Geneva, is a humanitarian organization that provides protection and assistance to people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. It employs more than 20,000 staff and is present in 80 countries. The ICRC regional sub delegation in Mueda is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy: 04 Drivers.
Context
Reporting to the vehicle Fleet Manager, the Driver is to assist the ICRC to fulfil their mission of working for the well-being of armed violence affected population by providing safe driving support and general administration and logistical work.
Job Description
- Drive vehicle for official travel, or as requested by Representative.
- Maintain high standard of service to both internal and external guests.
- Ensure punctuality and safe transport.
- Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.
- Fill the Logbook the official trips, daily mileage, Fuel consumption, vehicle maintenances, etc;
- Participates in Field trips and for distributions.
- Works as Field support officer for registrations and Distributions;
- Gives support for warehouse operations in loading and unloading of cargo
- Gives support to logistics in purchasing whenever is needed.
- Gives support in stock management and other organizational needs.
- Cleaning the vehicle attributed and kept it well and tidy.
- Ensure vehicle is working in a good condition and kept it secured at all times.
- Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.
Profile - Minimum required and Experience:
- Secondary Level Certificate (Grade 12)
- Driving licence CE with a duration of at least 5 years
- Knowledge of English and local language (an advantage)
- Knowledge of local languages.
