(Brief information of the project)
An emergency food security project funded by Japan Platform Fund (JPF) has been implemented in Messanja community, Metuge district in Cabo Delgado province since March 2023. This project aims to distribute food items (cereals, oil and beans) to selected 470 vulnerable households in the target four communities. The first distribution round was completed in May. The three more rounds are planned in the upcoming months until August 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Project officer
Principal Location: Cabo Delgado
Main Duties & Responsibilities (PO)
Be in charge of implementing food distribution activity;
Create activity plan report on food distribution activity;
Coordinate with local government to organize the activity, distribution sites and schedules;
Organize and facilitate a training to volunteers on distribution;
Exchange with beneficiaries to coordinate the distribution activity at distribution sites;
Attend the Food Security Cluster meeting to provide the project progress and show GN’s presence.
To qualify you need
Degree in Food Engineering, Project Management or related areas;
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education in relevant area;
Worquing knowledge of English and Portuguese, highly preferably both;
Experience required:
Familiarity with Metuge district including local language
Experience in distribution
Experience with a community-based project
Ability to manage distribution volunteers in the community
Ability to coordinate with government and cluster
At least 2 years’ experience with an NGO
Knowledge of minimum working manner (appropriate working clothes, attitude etc.)
Advantage
Experience in distribution activity
LANGUAGES Required: Fluency in English, Portuguese (both spoken and written)
