Demand Manager

Purpose of Job

Manage the critical points of integration in Gas Sourcing and Operations (GSO) between Supply Chain and the Business and be the single point of entry for the inbound supply chain. Build  relationships to develop understanding of the end-user’s business that influence demand. Coordinate the processes and mechanisms which enables material and services demand within GSO to be met, in line within procurement policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Improve the quality of the demand signal through the facilitation of quality scopes of work and lead time adherence. Promote on a continuous increase in on-contract buying within GSO Support cost savings initiatives of the inbound supply chain and drive down costs below PPI and ensure that the contract escalations are reflective of the business environment.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the escalation resolution for services and goods procurement;
  • Interface with Procurement on roll out of contracts. Set up sessions between end users and category managers and or contracts specialists to roll out complex contracts;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Supply Chain strategies and policies;
  • Enable scope of work conclusion for POs (including once-offs) as well as contracts which include the support identification of stakeholders, checking of inputs, facilitated scope of work and scope conclusion;
  • Ensure demand planning and Supply Chain execution Plan are aligned to ensure satisfactory service delivery;
  • Continuously enforce procurement policies and practices within GSO to promote standardisation. Align efforts with group as well as GSO cost saving priorities;
  • Manage and train end-users with regards to PtP process;
  • Oversee the execution of expediting and procurement administration activities.

Formal Education

University Bachelors Degree in Business Management or Economy

PSM Specialist

Purpose of Job

The purpose of this position is to provide Process Safety support to operations, interpret and ensure compliance with Sasol Group Process Safety procedures, standards, technical codes based on Sasol the One Sasol SHE Excellence approach. To perform risk analysis of process design and operations through process risk analysis and assessments methodologies, in order to prevent incidents leading to serious harm to people, asset and environment. This position is part of GSO Process Safety Management team and is required to be the link between the operational areas, the function and management. The implementation and enablement of process safety strategy to meet overall GSO SHE performance goals.

Consistently deliver process safety solutions which contribute to achievement of business results• Facilitate technical risk assessments and PHA studies using an appropriate methodology which includes HAZOP, HAZID, PHR, LOPA, SIL, Fault Tree, Human Factors, Inherently Safer Design and Explosion modelling• Communicate PHA report and findings to management• Assist management in the resulting decision-making process and formal response to recommendations• Provide input in facilities design reviews• Facilitate incident investigations and assist in the compilation of investigation reports, “lessons learned” and next steps• Gather and analyze leading and lagging Process Safety Key Performance Indicators and statistics for trending and advise on focus areas• Conduct robust and regular assurance audits on effectiveness of Loss of Containment Key Undesirable Events critical controls, identify weakness and manage corrective/preventive actions• Support the implementation and maintenance of Sasol Group Process Safety Procedures and Standards compliance• Oversee the identification and maintenance of process safety critical equipment, and statutory equipment• Oversee the Management of Change Process• Lead and participate in plant Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR); Oversee the plant Permit to Work System and related processes (energy isolations)• Support the Operations in proper management of safety systems bypass and technical concessions• Support asset integrity management program• Support the business with 2nd and 3rd Party audits• Advise on technical and applicable legislation, regulations, codes and standards• Provide a consultation service to operations on the technical aspects of process safety management.
