ABOUT MOZAL:

Mozal SA is a benchmark for mega-projects in developing countries; located in Maputo Province, Mozal produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

WHAT MOZAL OFFERS:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Manager External Affairs, you will be responsible to lead and execute External Affairs activities at Mozal:

•Inform, motivate and engage the workforce in pursuit of strategic objectives;

•Protect and enhance South32’s reputation;

•Maintain social licence to operate;

•Build strong and mutually beneficial relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

•Develop and manage the External Affairs strategy at Mozal inclusive of internal communications, external communications, community investment, stakeholder engagement, government engagement and liaison with relevant industry bodies/associations;

•Maintain oversight of the development and execution of key plans including the Communications Plan, Social Investment Plan, Social Impact Management Plan, Economic Development Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan, in accordance with South32 governance policies and procedures including the Social Performance Standard;

•Provide External Affairs advice and support to the Vice President Operations and Country President, Mozal;

•Participate in the Mozal leadership team as the External Affairs representative;

•Maintain key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally and represent Mozal at key external forums and events;

•Lead and manage the Mozal External Affairs Team and budget.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•At least 10 years’ experience in a directly related environment;

•Experience that encompasses communications, community/social investment and stakeholder engagement;

•Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience in developing External Affairs plans and strategies;

•Resources industry experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications for this role are:

•Degree in Social Sciences/ Development Studies/Business or other relevant tertiary qualification.
