Background
In Mozambique, through the cooperation portfolio 2023-2028, Enabel aims at supporting the country in achieving its low carbon, just and inclusive development pathway and energy transition by fostering a multi-stakeholder integrated approach based on local needs, national priorities, and global trends. Climate is the underpinning theme in the portfolio with a focus on 3 public services (water, waste, energy) as well as fostering the dialogue on energy transition and working on losses and damages.
In view of future needs for further development of its activities, Enabel is currently looking for an Accountant, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Job description
- Ensure the processing of accounting entries and documents to provide qualitative accounting.
- Ensure timely monthly and annual closings.
- Prepare files for control purposes and provide assistance for project and organizational audits
- Prepare treasury operations to ensure that suppliers/beneficiaries/etc. are duly paid and on time.
- Keep the accounting archives organized in accordance with the organization guidelines for archiving.
- Prepare and ensure completeness of supporting documents for control purposes before payment
- Provide financial data to allow reliable financial reporting and analysis.
Your profile
Required qualifications & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or financial management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar function.
Technical skills required for the job
- Use of accounting software.
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping (accrual accounting);
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion in a multicultural environment.
- Proficient in Portuguese and English.
- Ability to work in an international and multi-stakeholder environment, maintain effective and cooperative relations with all stakeholders.
- Be of proven moral integrity.
- Possess strong analytical and assessment skills.
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Service and solution oriented.
- Able to work independently.
- Reliable.
